Monorail Drilling Units
Monorail Drilling Units are used for drilling blastholes and inserting roof bolts when excavating underground roadways.
They can be deployed in both curves and 90° turns. The monorail-guided system permits the achievement of good parallelisation effects.
Altogether GTA offers four different types of drilling unit for use in the mining industry. All four can be fitted with different drilling rigs according to the conditions in which they are deployed. According to the type of rock encountered, both a percussive-rotary drill and a rotary drilling machine can be used.
Monorail Drilling Unit 6000
The Monorail Drilling Unit 6000 is used for drilling blastholes and installing rockbolts during tunnel driving operations. It is equipped with a drilling rig and can be supplied with an integral work basket on request. The Drilling Unit 6000 is suspended from and travels on an I 140 E rail. On integration of a 90 kN GTA push-pull unit, the drilling unit can be used in conjunction with 30° gradients.
Advantages:
- Blasthole drilling and roof bolting from the ′second working level&prime
- High flexibility opens up opportunities for parallelisation of operations
- Available with integral work basket on request
- Integration of a 90 kN GTA Push-Pull Unit permits use to 30° gradients
- Robust design suitable for tunnelling applications
Monorail Drilling Unit 7600
The Monorail Drilling Unit 7600 was designed for small tunnel cross-sections. It is suspended from and travels on two overhead rails. The machine frame is positioned between the rails. Low overall height is thus an outstanding feature of this machine.
Advantages:
- Low overall height permits use in small tunnel cross-sections
- Blasthole drilling and roof bolting from the ′upper level′
- Low weight reduces the load on the rail suspension fittings
- Available with integral work basket on request
- Robust design suitable for tunnelling applications
The 7600B version of this machine features a telescopic platform instead of a work basket.
The Monorail Drilling Unit 7600 is used for drilling blastholes, roof bolting and installing nails.
