Monorail Drilling Unit 7600

Monorail Drilling Units

Monorail Drilling Units are used for drilling blastholes and inserting roof bolts when excavating underground roadways.

They can be deployed in both curves and 90° turns. The monorail-guided system permits the achievement of good parallelisation effects.

Altogether GTA offers four different types of drilling unit for use in the mining industry. All four can be fitted with different drilling rigs according to the conditions in which they are deployed. According to the type of rock encountered, both a percussive-rotary drill and a rotary drilling machine can be used.

Monorail Drilling Unit 6000

EHB Bohrwagen 6000

The Monorail Drilling Unit 6000 can be used in roadway support with Type A and Type B roof bolting (roof bolting at the face and approx. 40 meters further back respectively). It is suspended at an "I 140 E" overhead rail and also moves along it. The Monorail Drilling Unit 6000 has a drilling boom which includes a drilling rig. It and can also be equipped with an integrated working basket by request.

Advantages:

  • Blasthole drilling and roof bolting from the ′second working level′
  • Deployable at the face or as a back-up system
  • Owing to its low overall height it can also be used in roadheader operations
  • Available with integral work basket on request
  • Robust design suitable for mining applications

Monorail Drilling Unit 7000

EHB Bohrwagen 7000The Monorail Drilling Unit 7000 was developed for blasting operations with Type A roof bolting (roof bolting at the face). It is suspended from and travels on an overhead I 140 E rail and has two drill carriages for drilling blastholes and placing roof bolts. An optional support-setting device can be integrated on request.

Advantages:

  • Blasthole drilling and roof bolting from the ′second working level′
  • Deployable at the face or as a back-up system
  • Maximum parallelism when drilling and setting roof bolts thanks to two drilling booms and a twin-section, longitudinally movable work platform
  • Optional support-setting device for support installation at the face
  • Robust design suitable for mining applications

Instead of the twin-section, longitudinally movable work platform, the 7000B version features an integral work platform (see photo top right).

This machine is used in roadheader operations with Type A or Type B roof bolting (roof bolting at the face or approx. 40 metres further back respectively).

Monorail Driling Unit 7300

EHB Bohrwagen 7300The Monorail Drilling Unit 7300 is a special-purpose machine that is suspended from and travels on an I-140 rail and is used for road clearance and the drilling of blastholes in the pit floor.

Advantages:

  • Drilling of blastholes in the roadway floor
  • Upgradeable to a Drilling Unit 6000, which means it is not just restricted to use in road clearance operations
  • Robust design suitable for mining applications

Monorail Drilling Unit 7600

EHB Bohrwagen 7600The Monorail Drilling Unit 7600 was designed for blasthole drilling and roof bolting in both blasting and roadheader operations. It differs from the other GTA drilling units in that it is suspended from and travels on two overhead rails. The machine frame is positioned between the rails. Low overall height is thus an outstanding feature of this machine.

Advantages:

  • Drilling and roof bolting from the ′second work level′
  • Deployable at the face or as a back-up system
  • Owing to its low overall height it can also be used in roadheader operations
  • Available with integral work basket on request
  • Robust design suitable for mining applications

In the 7600B version the machine is fitted with a telescopic platform instead of a work basket.
